Be sure to get the "Hydroxy" test, NOT the other vitamin D test called "Dihydroxy" - it is a better test for overall vitamin D while the other is better to check your calcium metabolism. Ideal level of 60-80 ng/ml. Supplements can result in vitamin D toxicity but sun exposure does not, and sun exposure is superior because it also increases levels of nitric oxide, endorphins, syncs circadian rhythm, etc.
